Adams Morgan Day , Washington, D.C. – The Adams Morgan neighborhood will once again come alive with vibrant energy and community spirit as Adams Morgan Day, the longest-running neighborhood festival in the city, takes place on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Adams Morgan Day has grown into a beloved tradition that celebrates the culture, diversity, and creativity of one of D.C.’s most iconic neighborhoods. The festival invites attendees to immerse themselves in live music, local art, unique vendors, and delicious food from our local restaurants, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.

This year’s celebration promises an expanded lineup of entertainment, interactive activities, and opportunities to connect with the heart of the community. Mark your calendars and join us in celebrating the heritage and resilience of Adams Morgan.

First held in 1978, this regional festival celebrates cultures and creativity arising from the diversity of the Adams Morgan neighborhood.  The Festival will be spread out across the neighborhood with art, live entertainment and activities at Jubilee Music Stage, Marie Reed Plaza, and Kalorama Park.

The Adams Morgan Day Festival organized by the Adams Morgan Community Alliance, a group of volunteers, which was formed in July 2016.  An umbrella, non-profit, working to retain and promote the unique, vibrant character of the Adams Morgan business district area as well as continuing the tradition of the community festival celebration.

Major sponsors and partners include: Adams Morgan Partnership BID, ANC1C, Caring Hands Tenleytown Animal Hospital, Corinto Gallery, 11th Street Bridge Park, Gymboree, Jubilee Housing, Smartwater, U Street Family Dentistry, Volocity, Washington Spirit, Washington Area Frisbee Club Xfinity, Zenjoy

We are pleased to have DC’s own Washington Spirit.  They will be handing out giveaways such as branded popsockets, koozies, and stickers.  Please join them as they  have a virtual reality experience. The Washington Spirit is also running a First Match On Us promo where if you’ve never been to a Spirit match before, you’ll get your 2 free tickets to a match.

Take a walk along “Artisan Stroll” where local craftspeople and retail booths will line the upper level of Marie Reed School Plaza located on 18th Street at the intersection of Wyoming Street and Jubilee  Music Stage, located at 1800 Columbia Road. The very best will be showcased, offering international specialty items, arts and crafts, jewelry, clothes, and handmade goods.

The interactive Dance Plaza, hosted by Cheryl “Cee-Cee” Hardy, Festival Director, is where you will go on an international journey of dance, fashion, culture and music with an explosive lineup of dance groups that will perform and teach basic dance moves, allowing the audience to join along.  Displaying the art of drumming and dancing, the renowned Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers will be present with their traditional honor of the African culture, with performances by the DC Casineros, as well as witnessing the fancy dance moves of the Go-Go Fitness dance/exercise troop , who will participate in the pre-festival activities, all are sure to please the crowd! Earl Carter, the multi-instrumentalist and renowned guitarist, will wow the crowd with a melody of tunes.  The stage will close with a Reggae party featuring I&I Riddim Reggae Band

The Volo City Kids Zone is both fun and educational.  Full of games and educational activities, it boasts a soccer and flag football clinic, as well as on-site workshops. The Volo City Kids Zone will be located at Marie Reed School Field, 18th Street at the intersection of Wyoming Street.

Continuing with our line-up and age-appropriate activities for the children, Gymboree will curate unique programming and interactive activities for the family to include parachute time, bubbles, and tactile play, creating a memorable experience for all!  Music will be incorporated along with tactile play, adding a different flair to children’s games.

The live music will resound from the stage at Jubilee Music stage, presenting “Melodies at Jubilee Music Stage” hosted by DJ Qhill, https://www.qhillbeats.com. Sit back, relax, and take in the smooth tunes by some of our local performers. You will experience a diverse line-up to include, Contemporary Jazz, Pop Culture, and Progressive Soul. This segment will run between 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  Jubilee Music Stage is located at the intersection of 18th Street and Columbia Road.

Back by popular demand, the return of the Reggae stage is where you get a chance to see live performances by some of the best Reggae bands that the industry has to offer.  Sit back and relax while these bands will have you rocking and swaying to the Reggae beat.  Adams Morgan’s own, “The Heights”  will also be performing. Nkula Reggae Band will close the stage, blending soulful reggae with rhythm, style, and grace, .

Our ever popular arts, culture and history segment of the festival combines the local diversity and richness of the neighborhood’s roots.  We will delve into the depths of the Adams Morgan history  with our American  University Humanities Truck.  For several years the Humanities Truck has been on the road  collecting the diverse experience and perspective of the community.

Live reggae performances can be heard at Bukom Café, located at 2442 18th Street. Also, don’t forget to ask about the special for the evening at Bukom.  The majority of local businesses will remain open and offer festival discounts, online and in-person.  On the day of, some businesses will host live entertainment and  DJs.
