Beat Ya Feet Academy-NOODLEZ

We use dance movements and poses that give students a visual recollection of basic angles and terms commonly used in basic geometry. This helps youth identify and understand geometric figures, angles and terms. We share a unique understanding about traditional African culture by relating the “Beat Ya Feet” dance styles with traditional tribal dances. While performing the routines we provide background information on each of the dance styles

Fabulous Hand Dancers

Ms. Konde reached out to DMV hand dancers. They began dancing outdoors and The Fabulous Hand Dancers Group was formed. The group danced year-round except when the weather was inclement.

Later in the summer of 2021, Lorraine and The Fabulous Hand Dancers started dancing in Anacostia Park, located in Southeast Washington. The Friends of Anacostia Park provided tables, chairs and a cook-out for the group. In April of this year, The Friends of Anacostia Park began sponsoring The Fabulous Hand Dancers’ events in the park. The dances include but have not been limited to DC Hand Dance, various Line Dances, and The Bop. The Fabulous Hand Dancers and guests will continue to dance twice weekly in the park until Nov 1st, 2022.
