JUBILEE HOUSING

Jubilee Housing’s mission is to build diverse, compassionate communities that create opportunities for everyone to thrive.

We envision a city and a world where access to basic resources and opportunities are available to all people and where people live out these opportunities in the context of supportive community. Our contribution is to create and sustain a segment of this larger vision in our local neighborhood community in the Nation’s Capital, and from this grounded experience, influence change more broadly

KALORAMA CITIZENS ASSOCIATION

THE KALORAMA CITIZENS ASSOCIATION is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization founded in 1919 to promote the interests of the residents of Adams Morgan, DC. Meetings take place at Good Will Baptist Church at Kalorama and Columbia roads, where we host civic leaders, activists, and experts on a range of timely issues. Our activities are:

  • Historic Preservation: KCA is Adams Morgan’s chief advocate for historic preservation. Click on Historic Adams Morgan for details and reports.
  • Parks: KCA supports the Biltmore Triangle Garden and sponsors walking tours of Kalorama and Walter Pierce Parks. Click on Parks for more.
  • Neighborhood Development and Zoning: KCA works to mitigate challenges to our neighborhood’s quality of life that arise from development pressures. Click on Development & Zoning for more.
  • Neighborhood agreements with liquor-serving establishments: KCA pursues voluntary agreements with liquor-license-holding establishments to ensure that the interests of residents are being served.

THE LINE HOTEL

The LINE DC is one of the most character-rich properties in the entire District. Housed inside a beautifully repurposed, 110-year-old neoclassical church right at the intersection of Adams Morgan’s buzzing nightlife and neighborhood streets, it seamlessly blends historic grandeur with a retro-chic, soulful neighborhood vibe. It is an absolute favorite for travelers who want to skip the sterile feel of downtown hotels and dive straight into D.C.’s local culture.

11 STREET BRIDGE PARK

The 11th Street Bridge Park, a collaboration between the District government and Building Bridges Across the River, will transform the old 11th Street Bridge into D.C.’s first elevated park. Spanning the city’s skyline, the park will feature community-driven programming such as outdoor performance spaces, playgrounds, urban agriculture, and an Environmental Education Center with classrooms to teach students about river systems. It will also include public art reflecting the region’s rich history, as well as kayak and canoe launches. Located between the Washington Navy Yard and Anacostia Park, the Bridge Park will serve as a destination, a pedestrian and bicycle route, and an iconic architectural symbol across the Anacostia River.
